Are you ready for some good news?  no? yeah?! okay then! We just signed a contract to open for one of Canada's most successful bands.  Moral Less Right were asked to open for Crush in mid-June for a huemongo not for profit gig in Stephenville Crossing ballfield.  This is defiantly not a show to miss.  If your not sure on who Crush are yet scope them out in google or something and give them a listen.  Though their not exactly the same genre of music - okay, stylistic their nothing like us - they are very good at what they do and deserve respect for it.  We are proud to be apart of the show, not to mention its for a good cause.  There will be a walk-a-thon going on during the day before the music starts around 7pm and there are camp grounds available so its going to be like one giant party sleep over!  Tickets are available in advance for only $12!! and at the gate for $15 which is still a great deal!  I'll post all the places where you can get tickets in the next couple days.  OH, and there are going to be busses provided for surrounding areas in Stephenville, more to come on that later as well.

Okay, the shows this past weekend.  The CB show went really well considering JJU and My Antonia couldn't make it due to weather and other impossible circumstances.  Big thank you to everyone who came out and stayed for the show.  The Embarrassments covered time for JJU and M.A. then the show was closed out by two great acoustic guys singing covers of Led Zeppelin to Johnny Cash.  It felt great to get such a good response from a place we've never performed before.. so again, thank you for all the support.

We are actually going to be in Corner Brook again this friday March 11th with The Embarrassments so if you liked what you heard last week, thats just the beginning!  Come out for a rockin' double feature!

Johnny Jump Up did come through however for the Stephenville show at Jacob's Place.  We had a great time eating wings and playing rock music all night.  Thanks to the guys for making the trip all the way out.  We hope to share the stage with you fine folk again soon.

Thats it for now, keep on the lookout for morallessright.com and our new revamped site!  Its going to be 100 times better and no banners or pop-ups! lol bloody things.. anyways until next time.

Cheers,

GOOD NEWS, the shows for the 4th and 5th are going ahead as planned. Unfortunately My Antonia cannot make it out this time but Johnny Jump Up (members of .roundelay & Under Authority) will be coming in to perform at all three shows.  Cover at Jacob's Place is only $4 and the ALL AGES show will begin at 6pm on Saturday March 5th.  Be sure to bring all your friends for a rockin' good time!  Support local music!  The bar show starts at 10:30 or so... and there will be lots of great merch available at the show.

See you all there!

Hi guys,

The shows for the 4th and 5th in Corner Brook & Stephenville respectively, may have to be postponed due to some of the bands not being able to make it out.  We'll know tonight if its going to go ahead or not so check back often to catch all the details.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hopefully it'll all work out and the shows will indeed go ahead as planned.

On to some better news now... Our very own Brad Colbourne won "Best Bassist" at the battle of the bands in Corner Brook this past weekend.   Congrats dude!  He took home a brand new guitar and props from the rest of the 14 bands that were at war.  We all had a great time and hope to share the stage with all the amazing talented bands and friends we met while rocking CB's Art's & Culture center.  Though it wasn't the smoothest weekend with the A&C we had a good time with our friends from Absentina and The Embarrassments among many others.

We now have new emails for the band and individual members so you can not only email the band, but each member too!  Here are the address for the new emails:

mlr@morallessright.com  to email the whole band

See you all soon!

Cheers,

Hey guys, just a quick update.  The home page has gotten a face lift -and may still undergo changes.  As well as the song of the week?  being played on the mini-media player at the bottom of each page is now "Fear of Truth" off of the "not a nine to five" EP.  The "ON STAGE" section will be changed and updated shorty to be easier to read and let all you guys know about the upcoming shows.. cause theres a few : )  OH, and write us and let us know what you think of the changes on the site.. good or bad.  MoralLessRight@Yahoo.ca  don't be shy! Or leave a comment/question in the guestbook.

First off, there is a major update in the biography section with a new picture.  MLR have a MySpace.com account started which should be up and running soon, so be sure to add us if your on MySpace.com.  Thank you to Lee-Ann Gallivan for all the help with putting that together.  We're teaming up with friends My Antonia & Johnny Jump Up on March 4th & 5th for two crazy punk filled shows in Corner Brook and Stephenville respectivly.  The guys are coming all the way from St. John's so lets be sure to show them some West coast love! We'll have all the details up in the next day or two so start resting up for it now, its going to be one hell of a show! OH, and i almost forgot, NEFARAT (among with others soon) are able to be heard via a little media player at the bottom of each page.  Simply click play, and rock out while you surf that particular page!

Springdale, Springdale, Springdale.  Once again you've put a smile on our face and helped support our dreams.  Thanks to everyone who came out and rocked Manual Hall with us even after playing a intense game of hockey for some...  If i remember correctly, the score ended up 9-2 in favour of Springdale ; )  Special thanks to those of you who took pictures and sent them to us.  I'll post a couple in here ... hrmm maybe one now. Moshin' with caution?.. oh baby.

Springdale Fans!

Okay, next little blurb.  New merch.  Much support.  Much love.  Now we have stickers (as to the long anticipation by Joe) Hats, keychains and EVERY size possible in our new colour t-shirts.  The big star logo, with a red star this time, and black/white text on blue, black and grey.  I personally think these are really nice and had to sport one on stage friday night... just a little harmless self-promotion lol.  Anyways, I revamped the new "Moral Store" section as best I could without a scanner.  All the new merch is listed there now anyway with prices (that helps huh), and we've put in a new separate page for "media".

Hrmmm whats next.  Oh, on Saturday the 29th we placed Third in the Arts & Culture battle of the bands.  Thank you to all the supporters and clapping hands during our set.  It really was an honour just to place.  There was A LOT of talent and a lot of great "Original" music performed there.  Shouts out to plastered unicycle (friends of ours from the college) who rocked it out for 1st.  We all had a great time.  There's a couple of big things coming up in the near future so be on the lookout for those (that means come back here twice a day and make this site your homepage) lol j/k... well, maybe.

Here is one more pic of the S'dale show.  Once our new site is finished we'll have a dedicated picture page for all you people out there screaming for more... again, Joe lol. Sorry my brotha'! ; )

MLR Rock S'dale... Again!!

We'll keep you posted on whats in the coming weeks and months so again, thanks to everyone in Springdale.. The Pelley's for being VERY cool and driving our sorry butts out and back.  It was really really appreciated - not unlike the amazing breakfast :D  Not to mention the door and merch responsibilities.  You guys rock!  Shouts out to the Colbourne's also, for filming, watching, and daring to venture into that mosh pit.  Ms. C, your a brave lasse.  As well as the parents who ran into the middle of that thing to drag some of their kids out of there lol.. crazy stuff guys.. crazy stuff.

Untill next time,

Cheers,

This is just going to be a short shout out to our buddy Mark Snooks who is as we speak putting together what will soon be "morallessright.com". In the next month or so we will be sorting out the bugs and getting it up and running like we promised.  We can't wait to get our new and ad free site up for all you guys/girls... gees those ad's get annoying huh?  And a very special thanks goes out to all of you who keep coming back here despite the ad's and supporting us.

Also, we just sent away our CD to the East Coast Countdown in hopes of getting a cut from "not a nine to five" on the show.  Wish us luck!

p.s. don't forget about the upcoming show this friday in Springdale. More info can be found in the "On Stage" section.

Well, we're back on the west coast again and getting back to catching up on classes and updating the site, along with planning a show for SPRINGDALE! (for those of you who've been asking us to come back for the past couple months here you go!)

I'd like to start off by saying a big thank you to Liz and the rest of the crew with Rock Can Roll Records as well as the indie artists co-op.  The weekend seemed to be a huge success and we are very happy to have been apart of it.

Thanks and cheers go to .roundelay & A Select Few for letting us use some of their gear at the shows over the weekend, as well as My Antonia, Commoname and the rockford peaches for their cheering & support.  Also to all of our friends that came out to support the band (in some cases on more then one night) it was a rockin' time thanks to all of you.

Right now the date for Springdale is set for Friday 28th at Manual Hall (which is above the stadium). Our friends in Elixir &  The What Four's will be joining us again to shake Springdale's foundations!  Cover is $5 and this will be an ALL AGES SHOW.  Door open at 7:00PM and the show will commence at 8:00PM.

Good news about our t-shirt situation.  We now have brand new shirts with tons of sizes from youth medium to adult x-large.  In three colours this time with Black, Blue and Grey all with a red star and white text except the grey has black text.  Our new buttons match the black shirts perfectly so be sure to get one of each while the goin's good.

And to end it off, we have for the first time ever, MLR Hats! (and keychains) but HATS too! two types.. you'll have to wait for the show to see what they look like, its a surprise.

I'll keep you up on the rest of the upcoming shows as they come.  Theres a battle of the bands here in Stephenville on the 29th that we've entered and there's going to be a mad show coming up in March but i'll tell you all about that one later.

See everyone on the 28th,

Cheers,

Hi guys,

The showcase in St. John's went well and we met alot of awesome bands & people along the way.  This one's a bit of a story too so put on a cup of eary grey & take a seat..

It began as we left Stephenville a week ago today.  We drove as far as Springdale to cut the trip in half (we were going to finish the trek the next day) and drop some of our gear to Brad's parents (they were driving out for the show too).  After that pit stop, we continued on to the capital.  After one of the most beautiful sceanic drives i've ever had, we made it to St. John's.. more specifically Mount Pearl.  We were staying at Gary's house for the the night untill we got our room at the Delta the next day for the weekend.  That night we relaxed, changed our strings & had some good friends over :D

The next day we were up, packed & ready to roll for soundchecks early that morning.  When we got there, we walked into the convention centre and just staired at the stage... it was grand, to say the least.   The best/most professional venue we've performed yet.  Quite impressive.  Of course we had to run around a bit and get used to all the new toys and giant light show that was there at our disposal, while not getting into too much trouble backstage... us? trouble? noooo ; )

After we did out soundcheck and were semi-happy with the result, we proceeded on to register for the weekend & get our room.  After we we settled in our room we went about our networking ways.

Just before showtime we were checking out the other great showcase-ies and they sounded great.  When it was time for us to go up we gathered backstage for a quick tune-up and a punk rock jump (more to come on that another time)  Anyways, we were introduced and on we walked to cheers & screams of enthusiasm.  For the rest, you'll have to wait for the DVD ; )  We made it to NTV and the Herald again.  Thanks to that whole group for staying with us and including us in their stories and writings.
MLR rock the MIA's!
Later the next day was the awards ceremony.  We had fun there watching some other great acts perform & see who was winning all the money & awards - hoping for one soon lol
That night at the after party we got together for a song at the "Open Jam" with the likes of Sandy Morris & The Novaks playing it was a bit intimidating, but we had to rock... it was boiling in our blood.  Up we went around 3:30am (i know) and rocked Fear of Truth.  People surprisingly were still yelling at us like "Turn it up!! Louder!!"  and yelling our name.  That made us feel alot better and not so strange rocking after all the amazing blues and mellow tunes before hand.  After that we had a chat with some more people and then back to our room... it was an early rise -or supposed to be.

Monday morning we were off to the highway -first A&W- then the highway & headed back west for our long journey home.  We had stopped in Gambo on the way to for a peice of "famous" Pachino Pizza but he had been closed.  Naturally we stopped on the way home.  This Pachino character had been good buddies with Joe & Brad from his time in Springdale and aparently loved the guys and had great pizza with great deals so... we had to drop by to see what was up.  When we walked in the pizzeria door a middle aged guy stood looking a us with silence for a min.  "AHHHHH! Party boy & Chip Guy!" was the first thing out of his mouth. (don't ask, hit up Brad & Joe with an email if you want that explained)  Anyways, after a breif catch-up he said in a deep accent "You want pizza? You stay, I make pizza for you!... sixteen inch enough for four!  You wait! Sit down, I make!" Okay.. you had to be there for this i swear.  He was one of the nicest guys i've met so we waited while he custumized our pizza to the last detail.  As we were waiting Joe wanted a can of pop so he offered a dollar for the drink but Pachino said "No pay, i give you pizza , i give you box, i give you napkins, i give you drink **** you!"  So with that we all lost it except Joe who actually wanted a drink now because he was dying of thirst lol  So by the time the pizza was actually finished and he asked us what kind of soda we wanted, Joe asked for Grape Crush.. and Pachino was like "You want purple straw too??" while mocking him.  Oh my, it was indeed a crazy weekend.  Good times, fun but insainity and very crazy.
PAHCINO'S!
But its not over yet.  We were eating the pizza on the way back in the car and it was getting dark.  By the time we hit Gander it was a blizzard and the roads were insain.  No one should have been driving on this.  And it seemed like it was only us and some transports there anyway.  So to make a long story short, we bearly made it alive to Springdale where we had to spend the night, woke up the next morning only to find it even worse and couldn't leave where we had parked, so basically we were stranded in Central for a couple days.

Now that it was Wednesday! (thats one week since the day we left for St. John's) we were able to drive out Springdale and back to Stephenville.  It wasn't the shortest drive, but we made it and were greatful to be back home.

Shouts out to all our friends that came out for the showcase again and our awesome classmates that made us a rad banner and stayed around when everyone seemed to have dissapeared.  Also our family's and girlfriends that made the trip and came out to support us.. we all really appricate it.

Until next time, this is one reporter thats going to sleep well now that the story has been told.

Cheers,

The adventures of...

Okay so i finially got a chance to tell you guys (as best i can) about our weekend trying to get to & in Springdale.  Well... where to start.  I suppose things started on Wednesday night around 10:00 or so -though be forworned i have no real concept for time.. i'm working on it ; ) - ANYways, we got a call from Club 90 saying that they couldn't do the show on the 30th.. i was thinking. what the heck?  We have our friends .roundelay & My Antonia coming in from St. John's! (nine hours away) not to mention all the promotion and three-hundred posters we had out there already! ..after arguing with them for a bit i realized that we'd have to find somewhere else to book the show.  To make a long story short there, we called four more venues and got a astounding "no" because of the all ages factor and none of them wanted to turn off their video lottery machines for three hours to accomidate us and a couple hundred excited fans.  Well, i just about lost it.  The final place we called were really nice and were gung-ho (or is it gun-ho?) for the whole shabam, but again, couldn't because of a permit and if we have givin them a weeks notice they could have no problem... and of course we would have if we never got dropped two days before the show! lol oh my.. what a night that was.  We even went out to talk to one of the manages of a bar at like 1:00am or something.

Okay.. now we're at Thursday right? right.  Thursday began no better then the previous day.  We had decided to travel that day to our Friday destination because there was word of a storm complete with flurry's for the next day.  After alot of running around/making calls still trying to book something else for Saturday, we managed to fit our two Marshall half-stacks, Drum set, a full stack bass rig, three guitars, two set's of lights, a lot of merch/bags, four guys & two skateboards into a Volkswagen Golf & a small dump pickup w/o a cap.  Now.. don't get to excited yet, it gets worse...  On our way to Corner Brook we had decided to stop and get gas thats more expensive then milk and is only outdone by the savage price of bottled H2O -the sign for reg. read 100.6- Things like this make you ask yourself a lot of questions like "What are they really mining in Voisey's Bay??"  Okay, back to the story.  When we reached Corner Brook, we had to meet Max to pick up the P.A. gear that we were renting for the weekend.  He was at work.  Till 10:00.  (This was around 6:00 now)  So after trying to round up some of the gear ourselves, we decided it was time for a food break.  A&W it was.  After trying to decide if i could afford their multi-pattied teen burger, we all sat down and ate together.  Then it was off the Don & Shirleys lol .... never a dull moment.  We stayed there for a bit and Shirley danced to some rap music while i made use of the free milk that resides there ; )  and cookies to boot.  Then it was time to pick up the gear.  So we went to see Max at work and after helping put away a 9 skid frozen order to speed things up, we were off for the gear.  So when we finially got the gear to the pick-up, we had to fit it all in there because the Golf was packed as it was.  After a lot of re-arranging and some greif lol  We got the works of it in the back, minus one of the top mains which rode on my lap the whole way! & a giant box of merch on Gary's lap! We were quite the mess.  Anyways.. it was obously dark at this point and I was in the golf with Brad driving on ahead.  If we had our time back we would have let Joe and Gary go first in case there was any trouble.. but you learn from your mistakes right? right. By the time we got to springdale around 2:00am i was starting to worry about Joe and Gary cause there was no sign of them for the longest time.  Turns out that there only made it as far as Marble Mountian and almost died getting that far.  Stranded.. they called for back-up and our friend Bobby was going to drive in from Springdale to bail us out.  Now you have to understand Springdale is no ordinary town. consisting of 80% giant sand hill, you can count out getting ANYthing (including gas) after 11:00 is it? something like that.  With less then a quarter of a tank, he wasn't going anywhere till the next morning.  So they had called Dana to come out from Corner Brook with his truck to bring the gear back and the boys ended up having to stay the night in CB.  The next morning, Bobby gased up with the overated/overpriced petroleum and came to the rescue for the stranded 50% of MLR and much needed P.A.

That morning we all met out at the stadium where the curling club was located and scoped out our place of rock.  After a very short set-up and a few problems with our phantom friends we were kicked out due to a few regular's enjoying their happy hour friday.  When i say a few i mean like four people.  Anyways, we had most of the flaws worked out anyways and we're good on the fly i guess you could say.

With no real soundchecks accomplished, the other bands and us went on about our pre-show preps and were going to meet back an hour before the doors opened.  Well.. if i didn't see it for my own eyes, i wouldn't have believed it.  There was a line-up outside the door of about 40 people waiting to get in to the show.  Myself and Gary continued on toward the crowd (no one knew who we were anyways) and talked very loudly asking if this was where the curling tournement was.. lol  and went on to say that the finials were talking place here in about half and hour.  So then we went on in and got ready for the show.  We were short extention cords and power bars the whole time and wouldn't have any lights or tu-2's without them.. (thanks to the people that loaned us that AND before i forget it.. thanks & cheers to all the people that lined up outside to get in, it was freezing that night.. you guys make all this worth while for sure) by the time we got everything set-up and people started pouring in we even had to stop the line up at the door for a couple minutes to straighten away everything and make sure no one got trampled.

Rocking Springdale !

The show turned out to be a huge success especially for our first show there.  you guys rocked harder then our home town crowd (now theres a challenge guys) so we'd just like to thank you again for all the support.. S'Dale feels like a second home to us now, so thanks for making us feel welcome.  The venue was sold out + 40 ppl over the fire limit (shhhh) and both Elixer & The What Four's  rocked hard too.. we can't wait to play with both you guys again.  There was moshing, dancing, Guinness, even some body surfing (though we were warned to keep eveything under control or they were going to pull the plug) and good times were indeed had by all.  Thanks to the Pelley's, Colboune's & Bobby for letting us eat, crash, giving us rides, or putting up with a racket, not to mention all the help with the show.  You guys are the best.

Well.. thats about it i think.  We got to go to a friends house later that night after break-down only to walk into an applause & cheering from people who had been at the show.  Thanks again guys, we'll see all of you really soon!

One last quick thing, there will be a lot of new pics posted on the site as soon as i can find the time to do that.. MIANL's showcase is in 9 days!

the end.. for now lol

Hi guys,

We're in Springdale now - well, half of us anyways- its a long story which i'll diffently be posting in the next couple days.  The AA show for the 30th w/.roundelay has been cancelled.  We're really disapointed and sad that we won't get to see all of you and party on Halloween with all our MLR friends.. but we'll try our best to get another AA show in the very near future.  Apoligies to .roundelay & My Antonia & Downside Moment for the cancellation.. we hope to be lucky enough to share the stage with all of you again soon.

Night,

Just to touch on what was talked about in the guestbook.. seriously people, we're not going to hire any hits on anyone who says something "not so good" about any of us.  In fact, we're asking for honest opinions.  Just be constructive about it and no one will get hurt lol.. j/k guys   As long as your not just down right disin' the band without a valid reason (could be cause you think all of our music is utter crap) but at least have a reason.  Thank you for you time in this issue.  lol

Okay, now on for GOOD news!  We've just about completed our new fresh batch of "not a nine to five" EP's  (thats 225 more!) This is possibly the last pressing of this record so if you don't already have at least two copies, go get yours today! Okay, okay.. we'd be very happy if you had one ; )

Don't forget, MLR takes on Central on Friday the 29th in Springdale.  We're looking forward to meeting all our friends/fans out there since its our first show.  We're expecting a pretty good turn out so it should make for a great show.  Our friends The What Four's  & Elixir will be sharing the stage with us as well.  Can't wait to rock with all you guys... see you in 4 days!

take care,

Just a quick fix-er-upper... The MIANL showcase will be held at the St. John's Convention Center, not the Delta Hotel.  Very sorry if that changes any plans you have already made.

We may also be looking into a show @ Junctions while we're in St. John's.  Keep on the lookout for that one..

Ohhh! We just found out, by the way, that we're closing the show for the MIANL showcase!!  lol .. ok, just wanted to vent that.. see you all there! Details are now listed on the "On Stage" page.

Well.. all i can say to that is that's the most fun we've had with other bands in awhile.  Kuroda & The Doers both represented well & rocked both nights CB & S'ville with heads up & fists forward.  Then, back to the MLR pad for whiskey & pizzaronies.  I mean, what more could you want?  Don't let the no lyrics (usually) and/or acoustic instruments fool you.  Both these bands should not be missed.

Now, on to more recent news.  Thanks to EVERYone who supported us and bought a t-shirt &/or CD &/or button.  You guys rule!  We've had an enormous response to the new merch & i have to send a shout out to Springdale... the support there is wild.  We can't wait to see all of you on the 29th.

Check out the updates in the "On Stage" section & the new "links"

The band would like to take this time to give a special thanks to Mike Hinks (ex the slicks) for filling in as our long lost bassist for the past two shows.  Its been very interesting & fun jamming & playing those couple shows..  Thanks again bro.

There is also some VERY good news.. We were accepted for the MIANL Award Show Showcase!! Thats riiight! Moral Less Right will be representing Newfoundland at one of its most prestigious industry events!  It takes place in St. John's NL on Friday evening @ the St. John's Convention Center..Thats November 12th i do believe.

Well.. that's all of it for now i think.  OH! don't forget if your in the Stephenville area to check out .roundelay & My Antonia on their Atlantic Canadian tour.  Moral Less Right hit the stage with them on Oct. 30th @ Club 90 (the club).. this is all in the "On Stage" section so.. scope that out & we'll see you all there!

Until next time..
