l - r Joey Pelley, Gary Moral, Nathan Rock, Brad Colbourne

Since the inauguration of Moral Less Right, hard work and dedication has paved the way to a quick and very successful break into the industry. The Indie Punk outfit, hailing from the West Coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, unifies alternative rock influences with a sharp sense of melodic punk/pop. With their brand new sound and style, they’re taking the industry by storm.

Together for just over a year, the band has recorded a six track EP of all original music aptly titled "not a nine to five" and already have countless performances under their spiked belts. Founded in late 2003, Moral Less Right (MLR) were always one step ahead whether it was having a website, t-shirts, buttons, stickers, hats, key chains, a professionally recorded EP or being armed to the teeth with back-line. They have undoubtably shown that they have the dedication, passion and drive to take it to the next step.

Nathan Locke (vox/guitar), Gary Moore (vox/guitar) and Joey Pelley (drum/vox) all having paid their dues in a mangled web of previous bands, met in September of 2003 at the College of the North Atlantic in Stephenville, Newfoundland. They enrolled in the college’s Music Industry & Performance program in search of a common goal: to find other serious musicians to share their passion and dreams with. After a short run of "fill-in" bass players following the departure of the band's original bassist, the band was contacted by an old friend/band mate of Joey’s asking for a chance at the bass position. A couple of practices later it was evident that Brad Colbourne was MLR’s missing piece of the puzzle.

Considering the diverse inspirations of each member, their Indie Punk sound is a hard one to pinpoint but is said to have evolved from various influences by artists such as The Used, Anti-Flag and Green Day. The sound can be defined as a feeling of rebellion, but lyrically tackling an array of personal and political views, it had a sense of being unique yet familiar.

There is a DVD in the works due for a mid 2005 release which will include their first independent music video for "fear of truth." There’s no slowing their momentum and no denying their D.I.Y. ethics. With an exponentially growing fan base and recently showcasing at the MIANL’s (Music Industry Association of Newfoundland & Labrador), Moral Less Right have made an unforgettable entrance into the local music scene and every place they’ve performed making a good, hardworking name for themselves. Armed with their EP (not a nine to five), a ton of new merchandise and mentions on stage at last year's Salmon Festival by rock stars (and fellow Canadian’s) Simple Plan, ALL eyes are on MLR. With all this being part of their massive "take no prisoners" marketing campaign, Moral Less Right is NOT a name to forget!
